VISUAL LEARNER

You express yourself best through written or spoken words. You love to read, may like to journal and have an extensive vocabulary. You enjoy subjects such as language, reading and writing, like asking questions and talking through concepts. You are good at verbally expressing yourself, like repetition and easily remember information you read. You thrive on classroom discussions, group activities and often volunteer for group projects. Frequently talking to yourself helps you work through problems. You prefer oral lectures and do well in most subjects. You do not prefer quiet
and may find yourself humming or tapping your pencil when there is  complete silence. You appreciate rhythm. Music and other kinds of sounds appeal to you.

HACKS

CAUTIONS

Math may be challenging for verbal learners. Reinforce a concept when you learn something new by writing it down or explaining it out loud to someone soon after you learn it. Use coins or base ten sets for studying math. If you have difficulty with visual tools like diagrams, charts or maps,
then spelling may not be your strong point, either. Talk in groups about a subject then write about it when studying. Meet one-on-one with your instructor when you need additional help. Ask if they will allow a verbal presentation or digital audio file as a homework submission rather than a written
assignment.
